This six-part program teaches general dentists how to place dental implants safely in their own private practices. It combines three live webinars, a full-day hands-on workshop, a supervised surgery, and a restorative lecture.
Participants learn to select healthy patients for implant therapy, obtain physician clearance, and recognize when a referral is the safer choice. Instruction covers osseointegration, surgical anatomy, grafting, and suturing. Participants then apply these skills to guided surgery with MegaGen implants and the DePlaque Guide Right™ system. The program closes with restorative-driven digital planning and final prosthetic design, so participants understand the full path from diagnosis to the final restoration. The surgical guide used in the course is the DePlaque Guide Right™ system, a geometric approach to implant guidance. In an in vitro study published in the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants (2022), the mean errors of its guide sleeve corrections were smaller than those reported in meta-analyses of in vitro studies of stereolithographic guides, and within the recommendations of the 2012 EAO Consensus Conference. Participants may also choose a surgical guide printed by RTG for their own patient.
Each participant places an implant with one-on-one supervision from Dr. Sean Meitner, Dr. Peter Grace, and Dr. Michael Adsit. The program focuses on healthy patients treated in a private-practice setting. Enrollment is limited to 10 participants.
By the end of the course, clinicians will be able to:

Dr. Sean Meitner is a 1970 graduate of Marquette University who completed his periodontology training and board certification at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health following his service in the U.S. Navy. He practiced periodontics for over 40 years in New York and currently serves as a consultant and part-time Associate Professor at the University of Rochester, where he has published numerous dental journal articles.
In 1986, he developed a reusable interdental brush with six size options to improve soft tissue management for patients with periodontal conditions, missing teeth, and implant-supported restorations. In 2000, he founded Guide Right™ by DePlaque, a doctor-developed, prosthetically guided implant placement and correction system designed to improve surgical accuracy and ease of use. This is the same innovative system featured throughout this course.
Dr. Grace grew up in nearby Rochester, NY, and is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Utah. He has continued his education through the Kois Dental Education Center, the Resnik Implant Institute, and the Engel Institute for dental implant training. Dr. Grace has placed several implants using the Guide Right™ system and is passionate about helping other dentists feel comfortable placing them as well. He is grateful for the Geneva community's support and is committed to delivering excellent, comfortable dental care to his patients.
Dr. Adsit earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2005. He completed a General Practice Residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in 2006. He maintains a private practice in Newark, NY, a federally designated dental shortage area, and has invested in implant technology so that he can expand access to dental implants for his community. In addition to his private office in Newark, NY, Dr. Adsit oversees all dental services for nursing home patients at the Wayne County Nursing Home, DeMay Living Center, and Clifton Springs Nursing Home. Dr. Adsit participates in MegaGen's Smiles for Vets program, placing implants on veterans at no charge to them through the program. Through his mentorship with Dr. Meitner, he has learned all aspects of implant procedures, including vertical and lateral sinus lifts, ridge augmentations, socket preservation, and immediate implant placement. He holds hospital privileges at Clifton Springs Hospital and Newark-Wayne Hospital.
